Donald Trump returns to the White House: assumes his second non-consecutive term as President of the United States
Washington D.C., January 20, 2025 — Donald J. Trump was inaugurated today as the 47th President of the United States, marking his return to the White House for a second non-consecutive term. The swearing-in ceremony took place in the Capitol Rotunda, a decision made due to the low temperatures caused by a polar vortex affecting the region.
Accompanied by Vice President J.D. Vance, Trump took the oath of office using two Bibles: one gifted by his mother and the Lincoln Bible, continuing a tradition of past presidents. In his inaugural address, he proclaimed, «America’s golden era starts right now,» emphasizing his commitment to national renewal.
The ceremony was attended by prominent political figures and international leaders, including Argentine President Javier Milei and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. Former U.S. presidents George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama were also present, along with leading executives from the tech industry.
Among his administration’s first actions, Trump declared a national emergency at the southern border, announcing plans to bolster security and carry out mass deportations. He also revealed intentions to impose tariffs on imported goods and issue pardons to those convicted for their involvement in the January 6, 2021 events.
